During a boarding operation to investigate a potential FFV, Dutchy is taken aback to spot SAS Captain Jim Roth among the crew. His moment of recognition catches the attention of the ship's captain, raising concerns about Jim's cover being compromised. ASIO agent Madelaine Cruise is livid; she confirms Jim was on a covert mission and orders CO Mike Flynn to keep the ship under surveillance for any signs that Jim might need help. Dutchy later witnesses a violent altercation on deck, and when the boarding team arrives, they find a blood-soaked area with Jim lying beneath a tarpaulin, suffering from a serious head injury.
