A rehabilitated McManus establishes a council made up of various inmate representatives to maintain order and begins GED classes to assist inmates in earning their high school equivalency diplomas. After discovering from O'Reily that Adebisi is to blame for his father's death, Peter Schibetta seizes control of the kitchen by leveraging a favor owed to his family by Glynn. As Schillinger's parole hearing approaches, Beecher relentlessly taunts him to sabotage his chances of freedom. Meanwhile, Glynn's daughter suffers a horrific assault by a group of Latinos, leading the warden to unleash his anger on Alvarez. O'Reily receives alarming news that he might have breast cancer.
