In 1968, an 8-year-old girl is kidnapped and assaulted. The Los Angeles police come dangerously close to apprehending her abductor, but he manages to slip away to New York, where he murders another young woman. This marks the start of a terrifying series of killings targeting young girls and women. When authorities finally uncover the identity of the killer, they are stunned to learn it’s a charismatic and attractive photographer. Astonishingly, Rodney Alcala is later selected to be a contestant on the national game show "The Dating Game." What unfolds next solidifies his place as one of America’s most notorious serial killers.
