Pat discovers the shocking news that Steve McNair, a celebrated figure in Nashville and former quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, has been found dead in his condo. Alongside him is the body of a young woman, indicating a tragic double homicide. Given the prominence of the case, the Chief of Police insists that only one detective is fit to handle it: Det.
