A landlord is demanding $4,800 in back rent and utilities from her ex-tenant, but he argues he covered the costs by doing free housework and was never informed the arrangement had changed. After being served with papers at his job and bombarded with hostile text messages, he says he’s suffering emotional distress and insists the amount he owes should be much lower.
