Meanwhile, Eric provides support to a mother (guest-star Erika Alexander) who is raising her two daughters (guest-stars Bree' Anna Banks and Brandi Vanice) with sickle cell anemia. Their estranged father (guest-star Victor Love) hopes to bring them to Memphis for treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In another storyline, Ruthie's ex-boyfriend, Peter (guest-star Scotty Leavenworth), unexpectedly visits, causing tension with her current boyfriend, Vincent (guest-star Thomas Dekker). Lucy and Kevin clash over who should take care of Savannah upon her return to work, while Martin misses a crucial call from his father in Iraq as he sneaks out to see his girlfriend.
