In 1938 London, Ian Fleming lives a reckless lifestyle, overshadowed by the legacy of his heroic father and accomplished brother. While enjoying drinks at a jazz club, he encounters the captivating Ann O'Neill, a socialite who proves to be more than just another conquest, as she’s already married and involved with Esmond Rothermere. Seeking comfort, Fleming turns to a striking dispatch rider named Muriel. After an awkward morning together, his overbearing mother manages to land him a position with Admiral John Godfrey in Naval Intelligence. Fleming quickly ruffles Godfrey's feathers with his unconventional tactics to extract information from two captured German submariners, but his discoveries reveal that creativity may be essential for the war effort.
