Gates and Morris provide care for an elderly gentleman who has been attacked in the street. Unexpectedly, Sam's sister arrives at the hospital. Meanwhile, Brenner and Dubenko find themselves at odds while treating a mother believed to be suffering from advanced cancer. Additionally, Dr. Morgenstern makes a return to the ER to support a former mentor who is gravely ill.
