Koichi reaches his breaking point with confinement and starts hatching a plan to break free. During a conversation with Yukako, he learns about a nearby payphone, prompting him to send Echoes to locate it. He attempts to reach out to Josuke and Okuyasu for help, but Yukako has already caught on to his scheme. Feeling despondent, Koichi's hope wanes.
