Feeling exasperated by the sluggish advance of British troops in Sicily, Patton disregards directives to remain alongside them and forges ahead to seize Palermo in 1943. However, his aggressive actions lead to controversy when he slaps two soldiers suffering from shell shock, resulting in his removal from command.
