Dave Johnson, the quintessential nice guy from the Midwest, relocates his family to a diverse Los Angeles neighborhood. However, they soon discover that not all of their new neighbors share his enthusiasm for excessive friendliness and community bonding. As Dave tries to integrate and spread his warmth, he faces challenges and misunderstandings that test his optimistic outlook on life and relationships in this unfamiliar environment.
