Amid the rising tensions of the Cold War, efforts to track down Nazis wane, allowing many to reintegrate into society or seek asylum abroad. This shift leads to a surge of former Nazis establishing new identities and lives in South America, evading justice and continuing their existence far from the scrutiny of their pasts.
