Sunset Manor, a care facility in Brokenwood, caters to the elderly and confused. Among the newest residents is Edward Alderston, who, after the recent loss of his wife, has been placed there by his family as his Alzheimer’s progresses. Mrs. Marlowe frequently visits to lead sing-alongs at the piano for the residents, but Edward seeks a deeper connection. He’s actually plotting an escape and has been rehearsing his plan, though he struggles to recall the details. When a man is discovered dead, with a Samurai sword lodged in his back in a nearby pool, Edward's location suddenly becomes crucial.
