S2E1 Bridge at Chalons

Lee Marvin appears as a sergeant leading a small demolition unit that Saunders and his team must accompany on a mission to blow up a bridge deep behind enemy lines. Doubting the squad’s ability to ensure his safety, Marvin asks for additional troops, but Lieutenant Hanley denies his request. Reluctantly, Marvin agrees to proceed, yet he carries a heavy burden of resentment stemming from the death of a close friend on a similar operation. Throughout the mission, he openly questions Saunders and his men’s capabilities, often mocking them as they work to complete their dangerous task.
