In 1989, Bill King, his wife Renee, and their friend Clyde Oatts are viciously shot in the Kings' upscale gold coin store in Newport Beach. Despite suffering multiple gunshot wounds, including a shot to the head, Bill miraculously survives, while both Renee and Clyde perish at the scene. With limited evidence to guide them, investigators gradually unravel a murder scheme that didn’t quite go as intended.
