Betty is deeply shaken when she learns that Kent is a serial killer, especially after he gifts her a copy of “Phantom of the Opera” and questions whether she could love him like Christine loved the Phantom. Meanwhile, Jack and Paco track down the ownership of the lair and confirm that the body discovered in the floorboards is Vera Bennett, a former librarian. While investigating at her old library, they encounter Karen and Diver, who reveal they received a letter from Kent. Seeking more leads, they are stunned by a major surprise found on a bookshelf. Later, Dianne suggests that Jack and the killer may share more similarities than they realize.
