Wen Chao leads the group into the Tu Lu Xuan Wu cave to hunt a fearsome beast. Inside, chaos erupts as the creature attacks and the cave begins to collapse. Amid the turmoil, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji become trapped together, forced to take shelter deep within the cavern. With danger closing in and no immediate escape, the two must rely on each other to survive the darkness and the beast lurking nearby.
