Reverend Ainsworth, recently widowed, comes to Halifax with the intention of proposing to Ann Walker. Recognizing that Ainsworth's interest is reopening old wounds for her partner, Anne takes it upon herself to confront the clergyman in her unique style. Yet, she quickly discovers that there are deeper struggles within Ann Walker's troubled psyche that need to be addressed.
