Marilyn pays a visit to an old friend in Joel's community, prompting him to slip back into his former habits. Meanwhile, Maurice entrusts Ed with his home, only to come back and discover that Ed has completely taken control of the space. The Vincoeurs are on the lookout for a new house and decide to make an offer on Semanski's property, but only after Holling addresses a few minor issues. Still, he questions whether he truly desires the place.
