With their parents away for two days, the Petes are given the key to the house, igniting their plans for an epic bike race dubbed The Wrigley 500. However, Big Pete suddenly finds himself distracted by his crush, Margie Corsall, and abandons the race. In a fit of frustration, Little Pete sells the house to the kind-hearted Krechmar family. Realizing the mess they've created, Big Pete tries to mend things with his brother as they scramble to reclaim their home before Mom and Dad come back.
