S1E1 A Clubbable Woman

In the opening episode, Dalziel reconnects with his past as he visits the Wetherton Rugby Football Club, where he remains a member. However, he's not there for a few drinks; instead, his concern is focused on Connon, the club's celebrated player whose dreams of representing England were shattered by an ankle injury. After sustaining a deliberate blow to the head during a match, Connon returns home disoriented. He heads upstairs to rest while his wife, Mary, watches TV. When he eventually comes down, he finds her in the same spot—only now there's a fatal hole in her skull. Did Connon kill her in a fit of jealousy, or is there someone at the club with a vendetta against him and his family?
