The trial for the "Goldilocks Murder" kicks off with opening remarks, and the prosecution calls its first witness, Ted Marcoux, who claims he overheard Avedon making threats towards Jessica. Shortly after, Hoffman’s worst fears materialize when a family member goes missing, leading him to believe someone is trying to communicate a warning related to the Avedon case, with Cross potentially implicated. At the same time, concerns arise regarding Appleton's professional ties to Cross.
