On September 7, 1953, a severe drought threatens to destroy a small town unless Sam, taking on the persona of Billy Beaumont, the "purveyor of precipitation and maker of rain," can devise a solution to bring rainfall. As he navigates this challenge, he also strives to keep his family united amidst the turmoil.
