Kate Wakefield believed she had finally found happiness when she fell for Adrian Prout in her fifties. Their marriage began with promise but quickly soured into constant conflict and abuse. When Kate vanished in November 2007, Adrian insisted she had simply gone to visit a friend—but the truth was far more sinister.
