Rosty gives his life to shield Will. The loss shatters Will’s composure, but Workner dives in to pull him back. Edward and the mages risk everything, yet the city’s barriers crumble as the enemy tightens its grip. Will despairs over his own powerlessness—until Finn appears, sword in hand. Will has only one spell left. Finn asks for its name, then holds the blade out to him.
