Devil in the Flesh (1947)
In the midst of World War I, Marthe anxiously awaits news from the front, where her husband Jacques is stationed. But when François, a passionate seventeen-year-old she once knew, reappears, she falls headlong into a fiery affair with him. Tormented by jealousy, François can’t accept her marriage, while Marthe struggles to convince him of her loyalty. The situation spirals further when she discovers she’s pregnant—with Jacques’ child.
