Can't Buy Me Love (1987)
In "Can't Buy Me Love," socially awkward high school student Ronald Miller saves cheerleader Cindy Mancini from a tough punishment after she ruins her mother's expensive wardrobe. To help her out, Ronald offers to cover the $1,000 cost of the dress, but only if she pretends to be his girlfriend for a month. As time goes on, Cindy begins to genuinely like Ronald, boosting his popularity. However, when Ronald's old best friend feels neglected, he comes to understand that fitting in and social status aren't the true measures of happiness.
