Tamer, a 17-year-old Palestinian Arab from a family that stayed put after Al-Nakba, spends his days like any other teen: hunting for drugs, chasing girls, gaming, and dodging schoolwork. But when Maysaa’, a striking new student, arrives, he’s instantly smitten—and pulled into her world of activism. Along with their classmate Safwat, they hatch a plan to secretly hoist the Palestinian flag and crash Israel’s Independence Day festivities, a date marking 70 years of displacement for their people. Now, torn between his own doubts and the cause, Tamer must decide what he truly believes in and how much he’s willing to sacrifice.
