In "The Hard Way" (1991), Hollywood action star Nick Lang aims to boost his credibility for a tough cop role by teaming up with New York City Police Captain Brix, a fan of his work. Capt. Brix pairs Nick with Detective Lt. John Moss, hoping the actor will learn the ropes of real police work. However, Nick's incessant questioning and mimicry soon frustrate John, disrupting his focused investigation into a serial killer. As Nick's antics escalate, he inadvertently complicates John's mission, leading to unexpected challenges for both men.
