No Man's Land (1985)
Madeleine manages a disco along the French-Swiss border, longing to chase a singing career in Paris. Her lover Paul smuggles cash, gold, and goods across the border, dreaming of starting over in Canada. Mali, a young Algerian woman living in France but working in Switzerland, yearns to escape her current life. Meanwhile, Louis—a Swiss farm-born clockmaker—desperately wants to leave his mistress Lucie and build a future with Mali.
