At the base of Mount Everest, tourists line up, eager to conquer the legendary peak and boast about it online. But this obsession has turned the mountain into a frozen graveyard, littered with the bodies of fallen climbers. Yet there’s another story—overlooked and local. Around the towering border between Nepal and Tibet, a community lives with a very different worldview, one rooted in mountain gods and deep respect for nature. To calm those angered spirits, famed Nepalese mountaineer Mingma Tsiri Sherpa embarks on one last, perilous climb to retrieve a body and restore balance to the sacred mountain.
