The Hedgehog (2009)
Paloma, an unusually sharp and articulate eleven-year-old, is profoundly disenchanted with the world and has secretly resolved to end her life on her twelfth birthday. She channels her restless intellect into documenting her surroundings, crafting witty, piercing critiques of the adults and routines that bore her. But her grim countdown is disrupted when she forms unexpected connections with her building’s gruff, unassuming concierge and a mysterious, graceful new neighbor.
