Michael, a veteran open-pit miner, clings fiercely to the life he knows, refusing to accept that coal is on its way out. For him, the mine isn’t just a paycheck—it’s his identity, his whole world. He rallies his coworkers to fight the inevitable transition, but his stubborn grip on the past only isolates him.
