Animalicious (1999)
A meditation on destiny, vanity, justice, karma, and forgiveness, ANIMALICOUS weaves together six tales of people and the creatures that shot them, tumbled onto them, or otherwise threw their lives into chaos. Shot across Kentucky, Missouri, and England, the film stars a duck that dives for bombs, a squirrel convinced it’s storming Normandy, a hawk suited for a hair-loss commercial, a parakeet, a turkey, a ravenous snake, and one scrawny little dog. It’s a wry, funny look at how animals help us define ourselves, with Lewis finding sharp humor in the odd, tangled bonds between humans and creatures of every size.
