Sylvia Pasquel is a renowned Mexican actress hailing from a prominent artistic lineage. Born to celebrated actress Silvia Pinal and actor Rafael Banquells, her parents' separation at the age of three did not deter her passion for performing arts. Sylvia was drawn to the world of entertainment from a young age and pursued studies in Fine Arts. Her family includes notable figures such as singer Alejandra Guzmán, Luis Enrique Guzmán, and her late sister, actress Viridiana Alatriste, who passed away in 1982. Sylvia is also the mother of Stephanie Salas, an actress and singer, and grandmother to Michelle Salas, daughter of the famous singer Luis Miguel.

Pasquel's extensive filmography boasts nearly 70 productions, showcasing her versatility across various genres. Noteworthy works include the 1970 comedy "The Wolf's Awakening," and iconic Mexican films like "El Santo against Blue Demon in Atlantis" and "Chabelo and Pepito against the monsters," both released in 1970 and 1973, respectively. In recent years, she collaborated with acclaimed director Arturo Ripstein on "La calle de la bitterra" (2015), which was featured at the Venice Film Festival. Her 2018 works include "Nobody Will Never Know," which garnered attention at festivals in Canada and the U.S., and the comedy "My Little Big Man." She reunited with Ripstein for the 2019 film "The Devil Between the Legs," which premiered at the Morelia International Film Festival and earned her a nomination for the prestigious Ariel Award.
