Susan Polis Schutz
Susan Polis Schutz is a celebrated poet, documentary filmmaker, and entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of the greeting card company Blue Mountain Arts. Born in 1944, she began her creative journey writing deeply personal poetry that resonated with a wide audience, eventually publishing over 20 collections that have sold millions of copies worldwide. Her work often explores themes of love, family, and self-discovery, making her one of the most widely read poets of her generation.

She wrote, produced, and directed the documentary *To a Safer Place* (1987), which candidly explores her own experience of childhood sexual abuse and the long path to healing. The film received critical acclaim for its bravery and honesty, earning awards and sparking important conversations about trauma and recovery.
Throughout her career, Schutz has remained committed to creative expression and emotional connection. Her notable works include poetry collections such as *Come Go with Me* and *I Love You*, as well as the continued success of Blue Mountain Arts.
