Dr. Charles Procter is a distinguished surgeon known for his expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques. He completed his undergraduate studies by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1994. He then pursued advanced studies at the University of Georgia, where he earned degrees in Microbiology and Cellular Biology. Dr. Procter went on to graduate from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Kentucky and Greenville Health System in South Carolina.

Since launching his surgical career in 2007, Dr. Procter has focused primarily on bariatric surgery, making significant contributions to the field. Notably, he performed the first robotic-assisted cholecystectomy in his state in 2008 and became a pioneer in utilizing fully robotic techniques for sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and duodenal switch surgeries. In 2016, he established the Beltline Bariatric and Surgical Group, further enhancing his commitment to patient care.

In addition to his work in bariatric surgery, Dr. Procter has a keen interest in robotic-assisted repair of complex hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds Fellowships in both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is also an active member of the American Hernia Society and has contributed to the literature with published book chapters on bariatric surgery and hernia management.
