Calvin Chen
Calvin Chen is a versatile performer, excelling as an actor, singer, and comedian. He gained recognition for his role as "Kajiklub" in Lucasfilm's "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," directed by J.J. Abrams.
Calvin pursued his education in English at the prestigious University of Oxford and honed his acting skills at the acclaimed Identity School of Acting, known for its outstanding training programs.
In addition to his work in "Star Wars," Chen appeared in "Teen Spirit," a film directed by Max Minghella, featuring Elle Fanning. The movie tells the story of Violet, a girl yearning to leave her small town to chase her singing dreams, with Calvin portraying the character "TET."
He also starred in Fanta's campaign titled "Big News," directed by Clay Weiner. In this engaging narrative, a group of teenagers becomes key executives at Fanta's headquarters, with Calvin taking on the role of 'The Cool Kid'—a character embodying an unconventional charm admired by the young executives, produced by TwentyFour-Seven.
Residing in London, Calvin has a rich multicultural background; his father is Taiwanese-Korean, and his mother, originally from the Philippines, was adopted from a Spanish family. Alongside his acting career, he is an accomplished boxer training at the renowned Elorde boxing gym in Manila, the training ground of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, and has a keen interest in martial arts.
Fluent in Mandarin, Korean, English, and Filipino, Chen is currently involved in the production of "Death on the Nile," directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a release date set for October 2020.
