Born into a family deeply immersed in the visual arts, Yvan Lagrange was raised by a father who was both a painter and a plastician, and a mother who worked as a photographer, with a cinematographer rounding out his family circle. He began his career as a film director in 1967, focusing on experimental cinema. His on-screen appearances include the 1967 short *Le Sourire bleu*, Jean-Michel Barjol’s 1972 film *What a Flash!*, and Jacques Baratier’s *La Ville Bidon* (1976, though shot in 1970). Since the early 1990s, Lagrange has also gained recognition as a visual artist, exhibiting his paintings and photography in numerous galleries.
