Raised in a family deeply rooted in motorsports—her father, Gerald Hansen, boasts 27 SCCA national racing championships—Courtney developed a passion for automobiles at an early age while growing up in Orono, Minnesota.

After earning a marketing degree from Florida State University, Hansen initially entered the corporate world but soon transitioned to television. Her breakthrough came as the co-host of the popular car makeover show "Overhaulin'," followed by her role on Spike TV's "Powerblock," where she hosted a series of automotive programs for eight seasons. She also hosted the travel series "Destination Wild" on Fox Sports Net, which garnered a Telly Award, and contributed to TLC's automotive shows like "Rides" and "Million Dollar Motors."

In addition to her television work, Hansen has been a columnist for FHM and has penned the nationally syndicated automotive column "Courtney Hansen: Full Throttle" since 2005.
