Greg Aiello
Greg Aiello's affinity for the wilderness was evident from an early age, growing up in the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, close to Yosemite National Park. Together with his older brother Jeff, who later produced the film Motion, Greg spent his childhood exploring the High Sierra, indulging in activities like backpacking, fishing, and climbing.
At the age of 21, he embarked on a career in the television industry as a writer and producer, contributing to various local affiliates across the United States, including WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, and KPHO in Phoenix, Arizona. However, his passion for the great outdoors eventually drew him back to California, prompting him to leave the television realm behind. He transitioned to a fulfilling career as a professional mountain guide, primarily focusing on long-distance expeditions along the renowned John Muir Trail, which stretches from Yosemite to Mount Whitney.
An accomplished mountaineer, Greg possesses extensive backcountry expertise. His adventures extend beyond California; he has summited the formidable Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, traversed the rugged southern Alps in New Zealand, navigated the remote outback of Australia, explored the lush jungles of Costa Rica, and spent ten days experiencing the unique ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific. With a rich tapestry of outdoor experiences, Greg Aiello embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration.
