Carla Camurati

Carla de Andrade Camurati, born in Rio de Janeiro on October 14, 1960, is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter, cultural producer, and former actress. She first captured public attention through notable roles in telenovelas such as *Livre para Voar* (1984) and *Fera Radical* (1988), establishing herself as a familiar face on Brazilian television.

In 1994, Camurati made a decisive shift, stepping away from acting to pursue a career behind the camera. That same year, she founded her own production company, Copacabana Filmes, and began directing a range of feature films that would define her second act. Her directorial work has been marked by a keen eye for storytelling and a commitment to Brazilian cinema.
