Billy Merritt has been a prominent figure in the world of comedy since the early days of the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), where he has both taught and performed since its founding. As a co-founder of iconic improv troupes such as The Swarm and The Stepfathers in New York, as well as The Smokes in Los Angeles, he has made significant contributions to the improv scene. Merritt's television career began with UCB's Comedy Central show, which opened doors for numerous appearances on popular programs, including Late Night with Conan O’Brien, MTV’s Boiling Points, and VH1’s Best Week Ever.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Merritt continued to shine on various acclaimed series such as Reno 911, Happy Endings, Weeds, Parks and Recreation, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, showcasing his versatility as an actor. In addition to his on-screen work, Billy's distinctive voice can be heard in numerous commercials and animated series. Notably, he voices Fryman in Cartoon Network's Steven Universe and has served as the host for Jameson’s Radio Network.
