David Berlinski

David Berlinski holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University and later completed postdoctoral research in mathematics and molecular biology at Columbia University. His intellectual range is reflected in books spanning systems analysis, differential topology, theoretical biology, analytic philosophy, and the philosophy of mathematics. He is also the author of three novels.

Berlinski has taught philosophy, mathematics, and English at Stanford University, Rutgers University, the City University of New York, and the Université de Paris. His academic appointments have been complemented by research fellowships at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria and the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in France.

Among his notable works are *The Advent of the Algorithm*, a history of the idea of computation, and *The Devil’s Delusion*, a critique of militant atheism. He is also known for *A Tour of the Calculus*, which explains the fundamental ideas of calculus to a general audience. Berlinski’s writing is marked by clarity and a willingness to challenge prevailing scientific orthodoxies, making him a distinctive voice in contemporary intellectual discourse.
