Richard Ramirez
Ricardo Leyva "Richard" Munoz Ramirez, born on February 29, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, was a notorious serial killer, rapist, burglar, and self-proclaimed Satanist. As the youngest of five siblings, his early life appeared relatively normal; however, significant events would shape his dark path. His formative years were notably influenced by a cousin, a Vietnam War veteran, whose traumatic experiences and violent tales deeply impacted young Richard. This relationship introduced him to a world of horror, culminating in witnessing the murder of his cousin's wife, a traumatic event that left a profound mark on his psyche.
Ramirez's criminal activities began in the mid-1980s when he embarked on a series of heinous crimes in California, which earned him the moniker "The Night Stalker." His modus operandi involved breaking into homes, committing sexual assaults, and murdering his victims, often leaving behind symbols related to Satanism. His height and size—standing at 6 feet with a wingspan of 82.5 inches and wearing size 14 shoes—made him a distinctive figure.
His reign of terror came to an end in 1985, when he was captured and later convicted of 13 counts of murder, among other charges. Ramirez was sentenced to death in 1989, but he remained on death row until his death in 2013, marking a chilling chapter in the annals of American crime history.
